PCP & Cocaine Found in 1-Year-Old Baby Boy
A one year old child remained in hospital in Chicago under observation last night after tests on the infant showed up positive for Cocaine and PCP. The baby boy had reportedly been at home with his parent where he had been found chewing on a piece of tin foil contaminated with the drug.
The child was taken to hospital after he started to act lethargic. Police searched the home where the child lived and found drug paraphernalia. After the test results were revealed the hospital called police and reported a case of child abuse, but it is unclear what charges could be brought about in the case.
The hospital stated that the child was doing well, despite the test results. He was very lucky to have come out of this, that’s for sure. By chewing on the foil that was contaminated, the young child ingested the drugs contained within it.
It is not clear whether or not it was traces of Cocaine and PCP, or if it was a piece of tin foil that contained the drugs that had not been used. It is expected for more details to come out about this case throughout the week, as the details at the moment are vague and unclear.
It is not yet known what charges will be brought against the parents, but there have been drug related items found in the home, and the child abuse case was reported by members of staff at the hospital.
